Getting started as a scrutineer

A scrutineer can reach the scrutineering pages in two ways. The organiser can give you the Scrutineer role on their team. Or your sanctioning body can accredit you and the organiser can add you to one event as a visiting scrutineer.

Get access

  1. Create your account and sign in. See Create an account and sign in.
  2. For the Scrutineer role, ask the organiser to have the platform team add you. See Members and roles. The role lets you look at events and entries and manage scrutiny.
  3. For a visiting scrutineer, ask your sanctioning body to grant you an accreditation. You can see the ones granted to you under "Granted to you" on your officials dashboard. Then ask the organiser to add you under "Visiting scrutineers" on the event's scrutineering page. Your access covers that event only, and ends when your accreditation lapses or is revoked.

How the process runs

  1. Before the event. The organiser chooses a self-scrutiny checklist for the event. Each driver completes it for their car and signs the declaration. You can read a driver's completed checklist and photos from the entry.
  2. Planning. "Triage and schedule" ranks the entries by risk, so cars are inspected by need rather than every car every time. The organiser's team can set how many months since a pass before a car is called again, fill in the schedule from the risk order, adjust times and bays, and publish it. Drivers see their own slot on their entry.
  3. At the event. Open a car from the triage list and record the inspection, and raise or close defects. The organiser's team can also flag a car for re-inspection after an accident. See Inspect cars at an event.
  4. Afterwards. The audit export lists what was inspected. The sanctioning body can read the same records. See Getting started as a sanctioning body.
