Withdraw your entry and the withdrawal policy

How to withdraw, what the policy on the entry page means, and how to reopen an entry.

If you cannot make the event, withdraw so your place can go to someone else. Only the driver can withdraw an entry.

How to withdraw

  1. Open your entry from "My entries".
  2. Choose "Withdraw entry" under "Actions".
  3. Read the message. It says what the event's policy means for your entry if you withdraw now.
  4. Add a reason in "Reason (optional)" if you want to.
  5. Choose "Confirm withdrawal". To change your mind, choose "Keep my entry".

Your place may go to someone on the waitlist as soon as you withdraw.

What the withdrawal policy means

Each event has a withdrawal policy. You see it on the event page, on the last step of the entry form and on your entry under "Withdrawal policy". It is written as short sentences, for example how many days before the event you must withdraw, and whether the result is a refund or a credit toward a future event.

  • The days are counted in the event's own time zone, up to the first day of the event.
  • If the event has no windows, nothing is promised automatically, and the organiser decides what you are owed.
  • After you withdraw, the organiser reviews it. Your entry page shows "Your withdrawal" with the result: waiting for the organiser, approved, changed by the organiser, or cancelled.

Withdrawing records the decision. It does not move money by itself; the organiser will tell you how any refund or credit is handled. See Paying for your entry.

Reopen a withdrawn entry

While entries are still open, you can take a withdrawn entry back.

  1. Open the withdrawn entry.
  2. Choose "Reopen entry" and confirm.
  3. The entry returns to a draft. Finish it and submit it again. See Enter an event.

It joins the queue again from the time you resubmit, so you may lose your earlier place or waitlist position.

If something goes wrong

  • You cannot see "Withdraw entry". Only the driver can withdraw, and only while the entry is live. A co-driver should ask the driver, or ask for a change.
  • You cannot reopen the entry. Entries have closed for the event, or the entry was rejected or refunded. Contact the organiser.
  • You are unsure what you will get back. Read the sentence shown when you choose to withdraw, or contact the organiser before you confirm.
